Wednesday

I was surprised when the session today started with walking using canes (like a crutch but they stop below the elbow). I held Daniel at the waist so he could stand upright as Michael the therapist concentrated on getting Daniel to move both of the canes and his feet with the correct technique. This was very ambitious with Daniel's current strength level, but the idea is to do this type of walking frequently in order to get the pattern of walking to come more naturally to him.
Next Daniel had to stand holding a table and then lower himself down on one knee and stand up again a few times. He finished 'standing' on his knees at the table to do a jigsaw, which was difficult for him at this stage but he tried hard.
